Saturday Mornings
The South Calgary Wado Kai Karate Club is a non-profit organization committed to the improvement of the health, fitness and martial arts understanding. The club services the Southern Calgary communities through classes, workshops, and tournaments. The club is a member of the Shintani Wado Kai Karate Federation.

Beginner Line Dancing

Cost $95.00 ( 12 classes)
Instructor: Gwen Ne-well. Try line dancing for fun and fitness No partner required. Focus is on enjoyment and FUN! Beginner friendly, gender friendly, age friendly, “two left feet” friendly, and a whole lot of FUN! Instructor Gwen Newell Has 17 successful years of teaching line dancing, this is the ideal time and opportunity!

Beyond Beginner Line Dancing *new*

Thursday 7:30-8:30 Until march 29 (*12 classes)
Cost: $95 Instructor: Gewn Newell This program is for people who were in the Deer Run Fall beginner program or who Know some basic, beginner line dances. Most of the dances taught in the fall session will be reviewed in the winter session and a number of new dances will be taught. If you have line dancing experience, this program is for you! Instructor: Gewn Newell has 17+ successful years of teaching line dance repatoire, this is the ideal time and opportunity

Svaroopa® Yoga is a supported style of hatha yoga, which emphasizes precise alignments in the asanas (poses), releasing tensions in the spine and increasing flexibility, helping to reduce or eliminate pain, balance your metabolism, calm the mind and give the experience bliss. Suitable for “every” body.
Class size is limited to 10 students.
Cost is $13-$15 per class.

Learn how to set-up your practice and review the basics: relaxation w/ guided awareness, breathing & the Magic 4 poses, or customized for your needs.

1 hour session: $50, 5 for $225, 10 for $400
A light, hands-on healing modality, working on many levels to reduce pain, anxiety & stress, as well as to help quiet your mind.

One Embodyment® session is equal to the openings of 6 Svaroopa® Yoga Classes.

The Deer Run Community Center is offering a 12 class program on scrapbooking.

Join us on Tuesday nights from 7:30 – 8:45pm starting in February 2014 to learn some new scrapbooking techniques and revisit some old ones.

This class is for both beginner and intermediate students. A 2-page 12×12″ layout will be completed during each class.

Every student will require their own 12″ paper trimmer, adhesive, scissors and of course… pictures. All other supplies will be provided.

Course Instructor: Jolene Haddad. Jolene has been scrapbooking for years and loves to share her talent with others. You can see her work and previous class layouts on her blog –, you can also email Jolene with any questions at jolene.

Cost for all 12 classes:
Members – $102
Non-members – $132
**Note: Deadline for registration will be posted. Payment is required upon registration. This class has a minimum requirement of 5 participants in order to run. We will be accepting a maximum of 10 participants.
