April President's Update

With the warm weather finally arriving it is the sign of the end of our ice rinks. I would like to thank all our Rink Ratz for their hard work this year. It certainly was a challenging year. thank you to Brian Moule for spearheading the rink formation and maintenance schedule again this year. Great job again!

March 24th we had our Annual Fun Money Casino. It was yet another success and raised much needed funds for the center. Thank you to Lori Froese for organizing, and Debbie Klein for her invaluable help in making this event so great.

As many of you have noticed we voted on our Facebook and website pages for a new community logo. I look forward to announcing which one you all picked.

The Parade of Garage Sales is May 26th in conjunction with Queensland this year. Thank you to Dorothea Sautter of Royal LePage Benchmark for sponsoring the sale this year. This helps us provide bold signs, directional signs and maps for vendors.

June 16th marks the date for our Annual Stampede Breakfast which once again coincides with Neighbor Day.

As many of our DROOS (Deer Run Out of School) parents know, Mercy has stepped up and become our DROOS director. She has been adjusting to the new position and is doing a great job. Also, we welcome Rob Garnett as our new center manager. I look forward to see what programs he is able to add to the center to utilize the space more efficiently. Welcome and much success to you two!

I would like to thank the City of Calgary crews for clearing a large amount of snow prior to the melt. I see them working hard on clearing drains to keep us all safe and dry.

The last thing I would ask is if you require services, please use the advertisers that support our newsletter. Even if you don't need their services, thank them for spending their hard earned advertising dollars with us. With more of them we can offer more content within this publication.
