People Needed for Deer Park United Church Food Relief Program

The Deer Park United Church (DPUC) Food Relief Program is in need of additional volunteers.

The church has secured funding and has connected with different suppliers who provide them with donated food as they need it. The supplies and the need is well demonstrated. What they are struggling with is with the people power to create the boxes and deliver them.

CPUC has served over 300 individual clients and 44 communities in southeast and southwest Calgary and would love for more volunteers to join them on this rewarding journey.

Who Can Help

Families and young adults are welcome to assist (as long as children are comfortable wearing masks!) and folks of all ages are welcome to deliver (as long as they are comfortable lifting a box of food; typically around 20-25 lb).

Delivery Locations

Although the most served areas are Deer Ridge, Forest Lawn, and Woodbine/Woodlands, there are also routes going through Rosscarrock/Killarney/Glenbrook and downtown/Marda Loop/Inglewood. The folks who are reaching out from these areas tend to be the most isolated and have no way of picking up food from other locations. See the infographic below for details of the program.
