Meet Victoria - Director at Large

My name is Victoria and I'm a Director at Large for the Deer Run Community Association.

Being on the board has taught me how intricate communities work with the City of Calgary to function. I didn't realize that the City relies on the community members to run the neighborhood themselves in many aspects like lawn maintenance and running of the community centre.

I enjoy watching all team members with different skill sets and strengths work together to brainstorm and troubleshoot ideas in our monthly virtual meetings. I also do mini volunteer efforts that come up where I get to know different people outside of friends and coworkers in a smaller setting.

I encourage community residents to visit the centre, read the newsletter, follow our Facebook page and sign up for a volunteer event or donate to the Giving Tree we run at Christmas. Even just one act can make a difference.

Keep your eyes out for your neighbors and lets continue to keep Deer Run a wonderful place to live.
